I’m not seeing any civil war.

I was told there would be a civil war.

Or at least riots.

Not seeing riots either.
A problem a lot of techies often fail to anticipate: the incredibly devious shit bad people can and will do with your application.
Elon Musk using the giant megaphone of Twitter to hype LibsOfTikTok, the noxious terror-monger notorious for inciting violence and threats against schools, libraries, and childrens’ hospitals.

Trump allegedly discussed US nuclear subs with foreign national after leaving White House: Sources - ABC News

I don’t want Nazis to be ashamed to show their faces, I want them to be afraid.
The Republican Party tried to kill our aid to Ukraine when they need it most, as Russia prepares for a massive winter assault.

That’s what we should be focusing on, not a false fire alarm in the House. A large faction of the GOP is a literal fifth column in the US government.
This whole process is completely bugfuck nuts.

The Republican Party is an outright terrorist organization, holding an entire country hostage for their sick fantasy grievances. It’s disgusting beyond belief.
tbh I do sometimes pointlessly worry about biden being too old for another term, but then i remember there’s an excellent constitutionally mandated replacement for him if something bad happens.
Any journalist, pundit, or “influencer” who says they’re staying on Twitter to bravely stand up and push back against Elon and his fascists is full of shit.

They stay on Twitter because they still think it’s better for their careers.
Tim Cook is aware of the problems with right wing hate speech at XTwitter. On CBS Sunday Morning he was asked why Apple continues to advertise with Musk, and he said the antisemitism is “abhorrent” and “it’s something we constantly ask ourselves.”

Maybe it’s time to stop asking and start doing.
The trailer for season 2 of AMC’s excellent reboot of “Interview With the Vampire.”

Remember when Madison Cawthorn mentioned that top Republicans had invited him to “cocaine orgies?”

The GOP made short work of him.
Texas Republicans are letting Ken Paxton get away with his corruption and crimes, probably the least surprising news of the day.

This is what the GOP is, a lawless, corrupt bunch of goons and criminals.
Bluesky drama of the day: Jack Dorsey has apparently deleted his Bluesky account.

Awesome news.
Today I heard never-trumper Steve Schmidt on MSNBC saying Mitch McConnell was “like a turtle sticking its head in the sand,” and I thought, “Dude, turtles don’t do that.”
One thing Elon Musk has definitely succeeded doing at XTwitter: the eight buck chumps are right up at the top of every conversation thread now, and it’s every bit as horrible as anyone could have predicted.
I quit Twitter yesterday; locked my account and put up a post denouncing the cesspool and linking to my accounts on Mastodon and Bluesky.

I’m not deleting the account because I’ve had tons of trouble with impersonators in the past and I don’t want the name to become available.

@74aff7f9 Is this NBC or MSNBC?
Yep, Kristen Welker is going to the as terrible as we thought. First interview is with 45. So he ...
@74aff7f9 Oh ffs. Did they just announce this?
Fucking US politics. So fucked, in such stupid fucking ways. Fuck.
It doesn’t happen too often, but I actually approve of something the European Union did: forcing Apple to use USB-C ports in their mobile devices. About frickin’ time.
FAA orders Elon Musk’s SpaceX to take 63 corrective actions on Starship, keeps rocket grounded
