 The Cat Island cypress, located near St. Francisville, LA. With a height of approx. 83 ft (25.3 m) and circumference of 54 ft (16.5 m), this champion cypress is the 6th largest tree in the U.S. and largest tree of any species east of the Sierra Nevadas. I’d like to add, if it wasn’t obvious enough, to stay out of the water if there’s flooding. That storm water is gross and nasty, so avoid it. Don’t drive in floodwater unless you absolutely have to and if you do, be mindful of the wake your vehicle is creating.
