I think you don't have enough followers for your posts to be widely seen using only free relays. That might be just fine for you though. Be sure to read from some paid relays at least (for free) to get a decent global feed.
Yes right now we are doing direct XML translations. If anyone wants to translate something and doesn't know git please feel free to just post your translation and tag me, I will open a PR for them.
Muun is self custodial, but it's not a Lightning wallet. It's a good way to let you use your on-chain funds on LN (through Muun's node), if you're OK with the fees associated with that.
If you want self-custody Lightning, Phoenix is the easiest solution. Breez is good too.
Phoenix and Breez are both lightweight but full Lightning nodes that run directly on your phone. So no, you need to run a node. But they come with it and manage all the channels and liquidity for you, so you don't need to run a *separate* node.
Read their docs. Your Muun funds are stored on chain. When you do a Lightning payment, you actually send funds to Muun's Lightning node and they forward your Lightning payment to the recipient via a technique called a “submarine swap”. And vice versa for funds sent to you over Lightning.
