Currently, I'm creating two new fonts.
One's a script monospace font, and the other's a proportional variable font. I'm planning to release both for free and open-source projects.
My designer self supports my artist self, kind of like a patron.
IMO, the key to keeping art activities sustainable is not relying on it solely for your living income.
Once a font's installed, most people stick with that version. But remember, fonts aren't just about looks; they're software too and can have bugs.
We should treat fonts or digital typefaces more like we do any other software on our OS, not just like static image files.

what's interesting is that more and more creations are coming from people who haven't honed their artistic skills – they just 'make it happen' with AI
this can sometimes be tough to watch, leading to what might be a modern version of the Arts and Crafts Movement, call it "Arts and Crafts 2.0"
