Some want it. Good to have options. But i actively do everything I can to limit the number of notifications from ANY app on my phone. Very few people are able to ping me with a notification from anywhere lol
When I’m ready to use nostr, I open an app and see relevant notifications in the app. For me, that’s as far as I want it to go. Some clients are adding push notifications, and this morning I saw someone post about an app dedicated to nostr push notifications. Good to have options I guess, but for me nostr has been a place to get away from the noise of other social media. I don’t want to start adding that noise back in.
Disagree. It’s false for people to think they’re so important that they need to know everything that happens. Chronological feed makes me not care so much about trying to see everything. If it was truly important then I’ll see it when I come back online because people will still be talking about it. Everything else I missed is probably inconsequential to me, and trying to care THAT much about everyone online is a waste of my emotional energy and time and attention. When I’m online on nostr, I’m in the moment. When I’m off nostr, I’m not wondering what I’m missing because it is happening without me and I’m doing something more important offline anyway.
You ever make a meme, and then when you open nostr to post it you see someone already randomly just posted one using the same template? This has happened to me more than once. Blows my mind.
Haven’t read the text of the actual rule yet. But I imagine they’d have to show that a business/person actively solicited those reviews in whatever way violates the rule before they could take enforcement action. In other words, I don’t believe I could buy fake reviews on your podcast and then send the ftc after you over it, unless perhaps you asked me to do it on your behalf. But if it can be misused then it probably will be, so I’m not necessarily disagreeing with your sentiment.
💯 The craziest example of this I’ve had was someone on nostr asking for memes for marketing leading up to an event. We started private messaging and they sent me examples memes they liked, including some I’d personally made. They didn’t know I’d made them and said they got them from a telegram group I’m not even part of. I had only posted them on nostr 😂
