That worked. Here’s my feedback:
- did you like this feed better than chronological
No, I prefer the chronological feed more. This one showed a mix of recent notes and older notes, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but some that were nearly a month old and that’s too far back. I would only be interested in notes from perhaps the last day or two at most. And it only showed notes from a handful of of the same people.
- did it show you users you care about
Some of them were users I care about, but some were not. Some were people I don’t even follow. I would prefer it to be only notes from people I follow.
- did you find notes you didn't see before and glad you caught them here
No. The notes it showed were popular notes that get shared a lot anyway and so I already had seem them.
- were you confused why a certain post appeared, and please provide the note ID of any such cases
No, I wasn’t confused by any of the notes being included, besides preferring to only see notes from users I follow.
- did a user show up too often and you thought it was annoying
Yes. It was primarily posts from Odell, Walker, Gigi, Lyn, and NVK. As much as I may like them and their posts, there did seem to be a heavy representation of their content on the feed compared to other users.
- anything else you think will help me improve it
It would be more interesting if the notes shown were pulled from my own follows, or even better from those of my follows that I interact with most. But if it’s meant to surface other users that I don’t follow, then it would be good to show a variety of users and not simply the same popular notes by the same popular users shown on other trending feeds.
A carnivore, a vegan, a bitcoiner, a crossfitter, and a Linux command line user all walk into a bar. You are the bartender and you’re about to have the worst fucking day of your life. 😂
“By determining the audience for each piece of content that’s posted, platforms “sever the direct relationship between speakers and their audiences”, argue Professors Riemer and Peter. ‘Speech is no longer organised by speaker and audience, but by algorithms.’”
“It’s something that they claim is not acknowledged in the current debates over free speech – which focus on ‘the speaking side of speech’. And, they argue, it ‘interferes with free speech in unprecedented ways.’”
“‘Current debates focused on content moderation overlook the deeper issue of how platforms' business models incentivise them to algorithmically shape speech.’”

Between the Bret Baier interview and Al Smith Dinner video, Kamala is killing it this week. And by killing it, I’m referring to her campaign’s chances of winning 😂

Nostr has helped me break unhealthy social media habits, and has reoriented my view of online social interactions in a more constructive and positive way.
lol cool. Was offline most of the evening so just going back through my notifications now. Yea that answer to jack said a lot of it. Just in general I feel like nostr has to lead to more authentic human interactions, versus on other social media where I feel like it’s a constant performance to get noticed and constant manipulation to engage with certain topics/accounts.
Hey I’m just getting back through some of these notifications. The most unhealthy habit that has changed for me is probably the amount of time and energy I would waste on other social media with no real purpose. You open IG or TikTok and start scrolling and easily an hour or so goes by completely wasted, and in that time you get sucked emotionally into issues and topics that have no relevance to your own life. I get on nostr and may post something fun or serious, or reply to some people, or check what is new from my follows and then I close it and get on with the rest of my day. Some days it’s open more than others, depending what I’m doing, but the dynamic is just different. More human/natural.
