Talking about the mess in #FOSS governance, is not about you.
It's the subject, if we are going to organize in a #FOSS way, using #FOSS tools I hope.
at the #OMN we have been using Gitta (Forgejo) for the social organizing of the #OMN, but it is functionally a hard block for non geeks to stay onboard.
Mess making sadly.
#socialhub it's the normal #FOSS feudalism we need to move away from. Mess making is a problem with this stage of any grassroots movement. There is not much left of any "group" much more like cats it's individuals dressed as grassroots, human being are social, as is social media, we are still stuck in #dotcons headspace with current mess making.
I think #4opens is the path, in this we do have to say NO to the "police". How this works is based on "trust" and firm foundations, and yes our #activertypub only has a skeleton foundation, a good one but needs much more support, the event is for laying this support into the ground as foundations to build on.
We are shutting down our mastodon activists instance next month. We are going to look at the sustainability of the campaign instance, but think it's half paying it hosting costs, activism covered no costs over a year. Will do funding outreach for this campaign instance over the next few months, we plan to keep it online, but it would be nice if it covered its hosting costs and help cover the costs of the wider #OMN

One thing I have learned in activism is that people will fight harder to keep the disfuction in place that address the needed change/challenge #stupidindividualism is worshiping the #deathcult here and adding to the mess to be composted.
