Coinjoin us tomorrow and the day after during @AB_Arnhem. Come watch the first stainless steel coinjoin from the hands of @Kanuto. Looking forward seeing you all! Wife and I both rocked the shirt this week again. Will you be at @AB_Arnhem?
We're happy that some of you guys actually announce joining via DM. I understand if you don't like to RSVP via meetup. This is no problem. Also we now have more than enough space paying for the large venue. We are really looking forward to our first public workshop.

The past 2 years we were present at the local Pentecost fair with @BitcoinBrabant. This year we’re focusing full on @AB_Arnhem. Which is basically kicking off with pizzas and the screening of @alana dirtycoin documentary on Wednesday. After the screening Janet of @gridless and I will be joining a group for a discussion on the documentary.

On Friday In the morning I’ll be picking up John Galt from the airport, he’s doing some great proof of work on a new signing device. We’ll be building up the bitcoin mining workshop soon after the pickup. The workshop will also be recorded by Stijn and his team. After the mining workshop the bitdev will be held at the same venue. Looking forward to the Socratic seminar as always.

On Saturday my parents will run the BitcoinBrabant shop at the entrance of the venue, we’re bringing a lot of stuff we sell via our webshop. @Blockstream jades, @Foundation passports, @SeedSigner, @Kanuto pins and art, our own SeedQR thick papers and thick words and off course some nice miners. Also we’re bringing one of our older bitcoin bazooka boxes.
What is very special is that Mr Seedcircle from Sweden is flying in for this event. He’s spend a couple of years building a really cool backup design, he’ll also be present at our shop and we’ll start listing them from that moment.

The Pentecost always costed me a lot of time and money, but I hope to have orange pilled a few of the 10k people that were visiting. This time I hope to be able to direct my energy into strengthening and building the bitcoiners buidl movement.

Looking forward seeing you all there.

A building is never finished. The question is if the people are satisfied with a current status of being. Are they willing to restructure to a potential view. It’s a complex human effort with broad consensus. Bitcoin is far more complex and important than a cathedral. And just like the cathedral will never be “finished”.
The question is how we got to this common effort. And that has come through a common belief. How do we bring a common belief or view into physical reality. That’s something we could learn from the church in general. Shock and awe from generations of proof of work. Leading by example in broad planetary competition.
I would like to use @silent.link eSIM with a 4 router to mine bitcoin with. Anyone has advise on an eSIM router?
I don’t have an Ethernet port on my phone.
Interesting approach, thanks. I’m still on the router tour with standard VPN that I could also use as a wifi receiver. Need that quite often in general. Issue with phones is the other data, I would want it stand alone for mining setups that run remotely.
I’m sad to announce we’ve halted shipping to the UK today. After packages being returned multiple times with multiple shippers without a clear reason. We will keep on shipping throughout the entire EU.
Het gaat hier specifiek om signing devices. We hebben nog nooit een Nederlands boek naar de UK hoeven versturen tbh.
Yes, the shipper asks a ton of questions that we fill in according to reality. The client then has to pay the import tariffs and customs has to clear the package. The last shipments the signing devices were simply not cleared by customs and returned to us.

The classic as a sentence, simply still hits home for most.
“What are you trying to tell me, that I can trade my bitcoin for millions someday?
No Neo,
I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready...
You won’t have to”

This is my original favorite topic at university. Breakwater design. The rock manual gives you all the different types of rock you can use. Your location gives you your impact for which you have to design. The question is, what are the extremes? You can calculate different extremes on different designs. The van der meer formulas (who also was the professor) you use are deterministic. They were created by trial and error in lab environments at the facilities in Delft.
The theorists hated his guts, they wanted to come with theoretical frameworks while he just tested the variables at scales and implemented what actually worked across the globe.
The university I was in was interesting. It was called UNESCO-IHE so it used to be an international sub department of the Delft University of Technology that was aiming to teach engineers from across the planet our water knowledge. Old professors and engineers from contractors/corporations taught the practicalities of water engineering in a broad sense. The original name wasn’t Institue for Hydraulic Engineering for nothing. To be able to apply as a Dutchman you needed to have 3 years of working experience in the specific field, bring a relatively large amount of money and make very clear why you wanted a specific specialization.
My parents are from a poor upbringing and both worked their ass of as a teacher for sick children (mom) and a physiotherapist (dad) to give me this opportunity.
During the study I found out that most students were not enrolled in engineering degrees but in, water law, water governance etc. Mostly funded by the Bill & Melinda gates foundation and the United Nations. The students were getting prepared to become the leaders of their countries. That’s at least what our lector told us at the start and end of our studies. But the strange thing is, who paid determines what happens right? Who are all these people in these positions having to pay back their studies to?
From the start of the institute until today the focus shifted heavily from engineering to bureaucratic studies. And for my graduation project I doubted where I could have most impact. Because on the bureaucratic level the projects and money is divided, while at the engineering level you just engineer. I decided to do a simulation optimization study on the three gorges dam in China. And it was more engineering focused, while I got to see the political decision making that made the outcome obsolete. Rational decisions don’t take place when bureaucrats decide over engineers. I always hated this and understanding bitcoin changes everything.
This is the first time bureaucracy doesn’t govern over the builders with their exploitation through printing and violence. Finally the era of properly engineered money has arrived.
We’ll focus on building again, instead of the dystopian endless bureaucracy. We’ll educate a majority of engineers instead of a majority of bureacrats. The shift from majority focus of extraction of life energy will be beautiful as no force or counterfeiting will help them anymore.
I can’t wait to be in the era of the engineers, the builders.
I need to work harder to achieve our bitcoin future. Preferably rock solid and battle tested.

I believe @AB_Arnhem will be different in this respect. The conference has people of the European Parliament, Financial investigation unit etc. totally different than the standard circle jerk.
Yes we’ll also have our entire shop layed out there. The day before I organize a mining workshop if you’re interested. Join me at Bitcoin mining workshop with Bas & Bert https://meetu.ps/e/MWkpl/T9x6W/i
I don't know, it's best to ask my friend nostr:npub1jqs0u7zhh53e94gyhm4eu458wm6sw7z0kk66jjhhkhh34...
We’ll set it up at the conference venue. Because the weight is over 3kg we’ll have to build a special stand for it which I’ll be doing in 1,5 week. I’m also bring in it to the mining workshop and bitcoin core dev. Gathering the day before.
@Ralph Hogendahl did you already post your bitcoin issuance spiral on Nostr?

If you go to a conference this is the kind of mail you would love to receive.
This week is going to be amazing.
This evening I spend time teaching children about bitcoin. 11 years old was easily creating a new seed with @SeedSigner and we used bluewallet to export the xpub. We wrote down the seed words and verified them. Signed a PSBT. Talked about devaluating currency with the Venezuelan (🙏@bitkontje) and Zimbabwean (🙏@Gigi ) notes. Explained the @mempool on their phones. They loved magic internet money and asked a thousand questions. It was beautiful.

 - It’s not an Apple Watch
- My wife baked the carrot cake, it was ~€3,80
- The blanket comes from action and is actually <€10,-
- The Nintendo switch I agree, but the 11 year old is a master at cooperative strategy games with friends. I have to say games taught me a lot on my over a thousand guilder PC when I was a kid…
One of the kids has a very specific candy he loves. He was complaining that for €1,- he was able to buy a lot of candies a couple of years ago. That was now only 2. He didn’t understand how this candy became so expensive.
I knew it was not an attack, just love to show off our minimalism 😉
Thanks for all your proof of work. We used the bot a shitload with the noderunners. It was definitely unlicensed and loved.
Bitcoin is by the people, for the people. We are with many and we will eventually prevail. Stay humble, stack and spend sats. Create more than you destroy.

There are beautiful nodes that are developed with the whirlpool option. This is one of them.
It’s extremely challenging to increase your bitcoin volume while investing in a bitcoin company. But I do believe the impact you can have is significant towards the eventual outcome/survival of the network.
FE when I started BitcoinBrabant in 2021 I knew I wanted to strengthen the network whatever the cost. I first built a broad website where I offered help with accepting bitcoin payments and mining setups. After having helped out quite a few businesses with mining bitcoin, “storage” became more important. So the quest for proper signing devices began. Eventually after testing, taking apart, investigating as many options as possible we ended up with only three devices that we could recommend.
I’ve consistently asked other bitcoiners what they believe has higher priority. Is it the audiobook of “the bitcoin standard” in Dutch or another mining installation? The audiobook was the outcome, so I started reading and recording it, because nobody wanted to do it.
Throughout time you should ask what is most important for bitcoin that you can contribute to.
For me personally I have a simple end goal. Separation of money and state. It’s this natural freedom I want my kids to grow up in. If we can’t complete this on planetary scale in my lifetime I would be disappointed with my work towards this goal. As a species we are currently limiting ourselves because we are mostly using terrible money.
In the past years I didn’t increase my bitcoin volume, but we were able to get closer to my goal in life. Helping and inspiring thousands of people over the past few years is something I really enjoyed. Now I feel we’re moving more towards a stage that I have been preparing for. It’s either freedom or dystopia, are you willing to fight for it?
We updated our website. First we are very happy that we can finally include two Dutch translated books the hardcover of @vijay “Een optimistisch scenario voor Bitcoin” and @saifedean “Grondbeginselen voor de economie” that was translated together with the Dutch Mises institute.
We’ve updated our miner installation portfolio on offer and incorporated some nice install pics with them.
We ordered 21 pins when we saw that @Kanuto did some proof of work. Super cheap delivery for the Dutch 😉
Enjoy the shop, as always we only accept bitcoin and delete your data after shipment.

A couple months ago I took Marloes to the greenhouse where we grow the bitcoin tulips that we heat with miners. She created a Dutch article about the halving in one of the most read newspapers in the Netherlands. You can see she has low time preference. The graphics when you scroll through the article on your phone are amazing. The explanation of the halving is the best I’ve seen in the Dutch media landscape.
It’s nice to see Eyvy the farmer from Norway is mentioned and “waste of energy” is still a thing.
I’m really happy to see that we are starting to reach the masses with a more balanced story.
Looking forward to the articles for the next halving already.

Ossification is something a lot of people push for. More privacy (something that is worked on meticulously) is a necessary evolution in the future. We’ll see what software everyone runs in a few decades from now.

3 months ago I paid to upload the first interview I ever did, because I wanted it to last for the future. Paid in bitcoin and streamable since. It’s interesting to pay for hosting your content. You appreciate the physical storage again like the early days when building a website in html in your notepad. Paying to host it and upload it. The version on YouTube is watched more often, but it comes with a cost. A cost that most people don’t see or understand. https://www.flare.pub/w/naddr1qqrk2dzn94kkudgppamhxue69uhkummnw3ezumt0d5pzqqcum72xramg3wxvefua8hlfnws5a090u7wcfp4d6vrv3c79rm3lqvzqqqy9hvqqhxvq

‼️ #Bitcoin hardware manufacturers, enough with the public ego battles. Collaboration yields ...
This is what I hope to see. Open source everything and build forward on the marginal few devices that exist today.
Later this year we are planning to start offering plug and play nodes and payment servers. We are currently testing @Printer Go₿rrr ⚡ beauties. The ronindojo bokuto and btcpayserver enclosure. Hack0 hardware with 2TB for the node and 1TB for the @btcpayserver. This hardware should last longer (~decade) than our raspis (1-3 years they only lasted).
We’ve been testing quite some setups but these are real beauties, proper proof of work which i can really appreciate.
The node took ~5 days to sync the bitcoin timechain. There were some issues with starting the plug and play btcpayserver, which we’ll solve soon.
It’s great going through these testing cycles and be in toch with fellow pleb builders in Europe. I’m really happy to see the free open market is so decentralized. Can’t wait we start supplying more plug and play sovereign devices soon. We are most likely going to need them in the future.

The nice thing about the hack0 built is that there is no SD cards involved. I agree it’s one of the weaknesses of the raspi. Also depending on the node software you run, and you use a fan it can be really noisy. If you use passive cooling on the pi that was not put there properly it can overheat. We’ve seen quite some pi failures with different causes. A hack0 is a totally different kind of build which I think many would appreciate.
You have to assume nothing you speak near an online device with a microphone is private. Just like the messages you send.
Several important additions to our bitcoin network could be in there. Either a node or a miner or both… I’m finalizing a full node sync again today… soon you’ll want that one too 😉

 I will give a presentation to https://www.betaalvereniging.nl/en/
and would like to know if anyone has some great Nostr slides / ideas I could include?
It will be attended by, banks, payment processors, regulators and CASPS (crypto asset service providers).
I will mostly cover payments now vs payments in the near future. I also would like to cover @calle 👁️⚡👁️ his work on chaumian ecash, or do you believe this is too early?
On the 26th of march 11.00 CET I would like to do a live post on primal and show my wallet when zaps ⚡️ flow in. If the zaps are just one Satoshi it's ok, I just want to show live what this tech means. I currently think I'll use @primal because it's the easiest flow for the noobs, any other advice you plebs can give me?
It went great, but didn’t do a live post on here. Too little followers so I didn’t dare to show a post live when not receiving any zaps.
I included your link. At the end of the presentation.
I used crypto economics pictures to explain the future I see. Attached the slides.
