@d6c53e4a Grade 5, assigned math homework the night prior, included a "take home test" a few pages ahead in our workbook.
I was an A student, loved school. Did the assignment, forgot the test portion.
Teacher was walking the aisles checking everyone's work, and when I told her I forgot to do the test she reamed me out in front of everyone. I almost cried. School was no longer important, no effort was made again. Grades dropped, I'd skip classes in HS constantly.
I'll never forget that day.
