Absolutely thrilled about the fact that I have been part of #Nostrville, the first-ever Nostr conference in the US!
@BitcoinPark proved to be the ideal place for this event, and it's just unbelievable how well everything came together. Huge h/t to organizing team, all Nostriches you should follow:
@mads@j0sh8p@tomjmaxwell@bitkite@ODELL@island@harry@shawn
The event was filled with unforgettable moments, some of which are immortalized in the notes. My personal favorites:
- @Compromised is not drinking any more
- @QW #nostrville summary
- `Penis Butter` (ty @Mallory for educating old Uncle on exploits of @Eshara)
- @ð•¾ð–Šð–— ð•¾ð–‘ð–Šð–Šð–•ð–ž's purple pilling
- Meeting @The: Danielâš¡ï¸ and mastering advanced Nostr searches
- @island tag distribution and scoring 1/200 tag
- @Sergio being absolute stud all the day (and night); providing cocktails for Nostriches. This guy is walking party, if he's coming to your event, be sure to provide him with booth and you won't be disappointed.
However, the most extraordinary achievement was collectively raising over 15 million sats for @BitcoinPark! I only wish we did donation ceremony live. But at #NostrvilleRooftopParty we lacked a sound system to do announce, and then tomorrow at @Plebchain Radio slot, we just had way too much fun... and forgot (😉 @AviBurra).
To remedy this, I'll be conducting a live donation ZAP âš¡ send this Friday on Nostr, so we can have online fun closure.
Lastly, I've got some cool links and media with fellow Nostriches - will leave them in the reply to this note. Feel free to do the same... and see you at next Nostr gathering!
All right, I guess people want @btcpayserver PayJoin & CoinJoin video tutorial!
Stay tuned - I'm recording and dropping it by the end of the week. #Bitcoin #NoPrivacyNoFreedom

Also, make sure you follow @kukks, the Evil Scientist behind these two plugins.
Lately, he's been working on coordinating payjoins over Nostr, so you'll want to stay on top of those developments.
Make sure to follow @webworthy too, who edits my videos and makes them into killer trailers. Uncle will figure out how to bring his magic to this upcoming project as well.
In the meantime, you can try and see if you can setup this yourself by following existing documentation on the subject.
PayJoin: https://docs.btcpayserver.org/Payjoin/
CoinJoin (h/t to @Kruw & @Max Hillebrand): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGVCrwMKKn0
You'll want to understand CoinJoin parameters in Scientist Mode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5nFckPfPcA
I'll deliver during this week.
On my end I'll use https://lunanode.com for the setup, can vouch for them as privacy friendly place to setup your BTCPay Server.
we have to fight back
> We must defend our own privacy if we expect to have any. We must come together and create systems which allow anonymous transactions to take place. People have been defending their own privacy for centuries with whispers, darkness, envelopes, closed doors, secret handshakes, and couriers. The technologies of the past did not allow for strong privacy, but electronic technologies do.
The great thing about this would be that you can run your own coordinator and completely avoid fees. Also mix only when onchain fees are low.
Will get the video out.
Yeah, valid concern, but two things to note here:
1. With PayJoin you're going to get fresh address, which definitely won't be in Chain Analysis approval list
2. You can CoinJoin through non-default coordinator
Especially number 2 is big motivation to do video; if we get 1 new coordinator running (especially over nostr), that would be a W.
Amidst what's going on lately, I thought it might be a good time to remind everyone that @btcpayserver supports both PayJoin and CoinJoin.
So if you're running a BTCPay instance, you can:
1. Withdraw Bitcoin from exchanges with PayJoin, obscuring the amount to outside observers.
2. Auto-initiate CoinJoin when certain conditions are met (desired Bitcoin amount and fee market).
Bonus: You can easily run your own coordinator, mixing your Bitcoin without using mainstream services and coordinators.
This could be a great asset for local communities with regular Bitcoin flows (e.g., DCA of members) to boost privacy collectively.
The best part? It takes about 20 minutes to set up. I'm considering creating a video guide - would you watch it if I did?
