 🔒 We’re stepping up.

This week, we’re moving our customer support to a self-hosted system, cutting out third-party providers to give you even better privacy and control.

From now on, all communication stays in-house - more secure, more efficient.

Expect a smoother, stronger experience as we continue to raise the bar.

Thank you for your support as we make this upgrade! 🙌
We recently launched an overview page to list out Open Source projects in the space we supported:

https://bitcoinvn.io/opensource

While as Vietnam-based exchange we naturally are not able to provide as much monetary support as some Western firms, we aim to continuously give back within our means and support selected projects which we believe drive Bitcoin adoption forward in a plentitude of ways.

Our contributions might be minor in the grand scale of things, but then again:

The more distributed and widespread the support base is, the less likely specific projects get beholden to please specific corporate interests.
Our Cash Office in Hoi An is back in service! 😄

Besides Da Nang & Hue our third cash-out spot in central #Vietnam

No sign-up to the platform required, living on coin & cash made easy for travellers and temporary residents alike.

 Yes, Madam ^^
 Thank you Melissa! : D

No conference next year in Da Nang, but there will be other smaller events on the schedule of the community.

Hope to meet again soon! 😃
 🤝

Welcome (back) to Vietnam sir 😃

Only two more days until #TBC 2024 - organized by our friends in Thailand around @Right Shift

As last year, team BitcoinVN will be present :-)

It's taken us a while to come to #DaNang, but here we are 😄

On our mission which we begun in late 2013 to provide an easy & simple on- and offramp in #Vietnam we've always strived to keep the user experience simple and pleasant.

Which also means:

Being a friend of cash and the freedom to live an #unbanked lifestyle.

The technology has of course come a long way since then.

Back in the day, there were barely a handful of mobile wallets on the market; Lightning did not exist and Multisig was something for... the adventurous who were willing to dabble around with commands in the console of their Bitcoin client.

While freedom is certainly under pressure around the world, we also should not underappreciate how far we've all come in the past decade to provide powerful tools for those who seek to opt out from a failing system.

And back to Da Nang:

The city in central Vietnam was not only the host city of #LightningCon2023, one of the first post-lockdown Bitcoin conferences in South East Asia, but also has been increasingly drawing in visitors and digital nomads from around the globe for its "big-city-at-a-beach" lifestyle with (mostly) great climate, access to fresh food and plenty of cultural activities in and around the city.

Give it a visit - and if you need some local cash to keep going...

...you know who can help out :-)

 In good company :)

Only two more weeks until @BTCTokyo 🇯🇵🥳

See you there soon!

Since we have received some questions regarding "Ban Viet" bank - yes, it is supported as is every other domestic bank in #Vietnam

Simply type in the bank you want to find and it shall show up in the dropdown menu 🙂

Any feedback appreciated as always of course 🙏

As the exit doors in Western countries are closing due to the upcoming need to recollateralize the system, the question comes up ever more often:

How can I use BitcoinVN as a non-Vietnam resident?

Using the Cash Offices or Bitcoin ATM's is of course not a practical solution if you have no boots on the ground.

Not often talked about, but:

Up to 250,000 VND (~10 USD) you can use our service globally to convert Fiat into Sats without the need to create an account with our service.

https://bitcoinvn.io/?deposit=vndwise&settle=btcln

Yes, we know those limits are very low due to the risks associated with accepting unverified fiat funds - but for a small steady stacking option, it is a viable option. 🙂

For anything more, there are alternative pathways - and our OTC desk team ( https://bitcoinvn.io/otc ) is happy to help you navigate your options.
For those, who don't know about us yet we will share some notes about the story & history about how #BitcoinVN came to be over the coming weeks and months.

BitcoinVN ( nowadays operating under BitcoinVN.io ) - originally named "Bitcoin Vietnam" - was registered in December 2013 and launched #Vietnam's first Bitcoin Exchange in March 2014.

Now, in hindsight and the year being 2024, the name "Bitcoin Vietnam" sounds certainly rather uninspired.

But:

In those early days the vast majority of the world (and local) population had not even ever(!) heard about #Bitcoin, a situation which is of course vastly different a decade on.

In those very early days, as the very first and second wave of actual business in the Bitcoin ecosystem started to form, naming your company "Bitcoin XYZ" was a very normal thing to do.

After all:

There was NOBODY ELSE in the whole region/country/city being involved with Bitcoin at all besides you and a couple of handful of other guys who all knew each other from Bitcointalk... - those were the days.
...added to our short list of next channels to open 🙂
I am so done with Reddit!

New to Nostr. Tell me about best practices. Which accounts to follow?
...
Thank you for the conversation on Reddit today and glad to have you here.

We would recommend to also follow our friends at @BitcoinSaigon - if you ever make it out here, you'll find some good folks there.

Let's keep building - even if in war not everyone of us will make it out to the other side.
Likely not an option for the majority of your audience, but in #Vietnam it's still pretty simple to buy Sats without KYC procedures.

We do operate a Cash Office in Saigon as well as several Bitcoin ATM outlets across the area :-)

Possibly useful if on vacation and looking to grow the unregistered BTC stack :-)

2) Cashing out BTC (Lightning, On-chain, Liquid) to either cash (currently 5 cities supported) or bank wire (any valid Vietnamese bank account) is also supported.

Which allows visitors to live in Vietnam pretty easily without the need for a bank account :-)
