Millions of pensioners in Britain have just found out that their pensions are now liable for massive inheritance taxation.
Everything they have worked for, in order to pass on to their children (who desperately need this lifeline in a world where crippling debt has become the only way to own any real assets), will now be subjected to ransacking by the state.
What’s happening in the UK is so disgusting, it makes me physically angry. The state has gone completely blood thirsty. The people are being systematically looted by a government absolutely hellbent on taking everything they can get from absolutely anyone who has so much as a dime for them to steal.
And this is to pay for a country where crime is rife, public services are nonexistent, infrastructure is falling apart, freedoms are stripped, and any hope for a positive future has disappeared for most.
The government is at war with the people. It may not be a war of violence - although if you attended on a freedom protest then you’d soon realise it is certainly that, too - but it is undoubtedly a financial war. The name of the game is simple - take as much as you can from as many as you can, without giving anything back, and ensuring ever higher levels of subservience and dependence on the state.
But there IS an answer. The answer is to say no to their panopticon by getting off the fiat standard and on the Bitcoin standard.
Fuck buying a house, buy bitcoin instead. Fuck buying a nice car, buy a second hand shitpiece and buy bitcoin with the rest. Fuck buying designer clothes, shop at charity stores if you have to. Save the rest in bitcoin. Got something to sell? Got a service to provide? Do it for Bitcoin. Got access to a loan? Take it and buy bitcoin. Use their fiat weapons against them. Drain them.
Do this for a few years and buy as much Bitcoin as possible, and the exit door from enslavement lights up like a glowing beacon.
We are in a war against the state and it’s time that people wake the fuck up and start fighting back. Once your wealth is in Bitcoin, they cannot take it. It’s that fucking simple. What are they gonna do when you’ve passed on 12 words to your loved one which is the keys to everything you’ve worked for? They can’t do SHIT!
We have the silver bullet and it’s high time that we started using it. Bitcoin is how we end this. Not waiting for the next election so you can vote in another group of criminals to figure out more creative ways to rob you. People need to grow some fucking balls and take a risk. And it’s not even a big risk any more. The risk is literally lower than the other option which is GUARANTEED getting all your shit taken from these thieves on a long enough timeframe.
Stop fucking around, Brits. This is serious. Take action now or you only have yourselves to blame. Fuck this stupid British attitude of “oh but we’ve all got to tighten our belts”, “oh we’ve all got to pitch in”, blah blah blah. FUCK THAT! You’re being stolen from by a bunch of goddamn demonic criminals who are destroying the country and everyone in it. This is the magnitude of the situation.
So turn off the TV, put the fucking newspaper down, and start making a list of all the ways you can get more Bitcoin so the state cannot take your shit. It’s that simple. Onwards.

“Spun out of a Singularities' sorrow and scorn
A charging cyclone of calamity is born
Twirling trails of tears thru ties torn
From fleeting forms for forms forlorn
We weather what we will till will is weather worn
All cast out to create a calm at the eye of the storm.”

Few can afford a REAL home now. A place with space - space to learn, space to work, space to relax, space to exercise, space to rest, space to grow, space to host, to bring friends, to play music, to create art, to raise a family.
The best most people can do is afford a small house with little space. Or an apartment, perhaps. A “home” where you can never escape the sights and sounds of your neighbours. A place that can hardly be considered a sanctuary for the body or the soul.
Worse still, most people are reduced to renting. Giving you limited autonomy over your _temporary_ home, and nullifying your ability to truly make it your own.
Were become accustomed to this. We’ve come to accept it as inevitable. The idea of a private place which you are sovereign over, that can become an extension of yourself, an expression of your character, your soul, your dreams and your ambitions, is off the table for most.
That is, unless you can escape the fiat matrix. This is why we Bitcoin. We Bitcoin to take back what is rightfully ours, we Bitcoin to reject the inflationary paradigm that has stripped us of the kind of soulful living that we all yearn for. Bitcoin brings back the dream. And just like the homes we seek sanctuary within, Bitcoin offers us all a true sanctuary from the oppressive regime that has brought us to where we are.
Bitcoin is not just a fight for monetary sovereignty. It’s a fight for our ability to find peace, comfort, joyfulness, and inspiration in the home. It’s a fight for our very soul.

Thanks for the heads up. Unfollowed. Probably a lot more where that came from. Went on a mad following spree to jump start my timeline. Probably a lot of cleaning up to do now!
It will. However houses are an inferior inflation hedge to Bitcoin. So I think whatever house prices do in the next 10 years, Bitcoin will do maybe 50X that, as a percentage gain. Unfortunately for the banksters, all their remaining tools for enslavement lead to hyperbitcoinization as a rational market response. Popcorn time! 🍿
A “beautiful human being” is one who lives in harmony with their virtues—wisdom, courage, justice, and temperance. Such a person is not fragmented or torn between competing desires, but rather lives with a unity of thought, intention, and action. This inner integrity allows us to remain steady, to live with purpose, and to be at peace with ourselves, regardless of external pressures.
Marcus Aurelius emphasizes that to be truly human is to focus on what our proper work should be. Our work is not to accumulate wealth, power, or influence, but to fulfill our nature by living virtuously, by exercising our reason in the service of what is good, and by contributing to the common good of humanity.
To apply this wisdom, we must constantly return to the question: What is my proper concern? Instead of being scattered by the noise of the world, we need to cultivate that unified self, grounded in reason and virtue. Our humanity is not defined by our circumstances, our successes, or our failures, but by the alignment of our actions with our higher nature.
When we live with this unity, we become not only more fully human but also more resilient, more compassionate, and more capable of navigating the challenges of life with grace.

I’ve not read it (yet). However from reading other stuff by Ryan Holiday (namely The Daily Stoic), I’m very familiar with Aurelius, albeit from reading his work second hand.
He is my favourite of the stoics. Always so on point. I’ll make a note to advance Meditations on my reading list. 🤜🤛
I figure that since I’m finding more and more interesting accounts sharing interesting and thoughtful posts on here, maybe I can add to that…
Here’s a stoic principle invites us to shift our focus from seeking fulfillment in external things—wealth, status, even the approval of others—and instead to turn inward, understanding that true goodness lies in how we shape our character and respond to the world.
The Stoics remind us that external things can be taken away, disrupted, or lost, but our ability to choose wisely and virtuously remains. When we understand that the only real good resides within us, in our thoughts, intentions, and actions, we free ourselves from the anxiety of trying to control what is beyond our power.
To apply this in our lives, we must cultivate an awareness of where we place our desires. Are we chasing after fleeting pleasures or external validations? Or are we investing in developing inner virtues—courage, integrity, wisdom—that no external force can take from us? In every situation, we should ask: What is within my control, and how can I act with goodness here?
In each moment of decision, we hold the key to our own well-being. Protecting our good means being mindful of our choices and their alignment with what truly matters. The law that Epictetus refers to—that we must get the good from ourselves—is both a challenge and a liberation. It asks us to stop looking outward for validation and start trusting the strength of our inner virtues. This is the path to a life of peace and resilience, where we become unshaken by the world because we carry the good within us, and do not seek it from external sources.

Love that the weekends give me the opportunity to invest more time in a great breakfast.
This one is a bed of chia seeds soaked in almond milk, then a layer of blended banana, peanut butter, avocado and pea protein powder. Topped with chopped apple, strawberries, Brazil nuts and pumpkin seeds.
I’ll never get bored of this.

For so long, I wrestled with Twitter. An endless torrent of noise, fleeting thoughts, and shallow interactions that left me feeling hollow. It was a place I fought to carve out meaning, only to find myself drained, lost in the churn of algorithms and outrage. I clung to it out of habit, and out of concerns for losing my voice in the sea of voices.
Now I’m really committing to Nostr, I can feel a shift within me. It wasn’t immediate, but gradually I’m feeling a sense of contentment settle in. Here, I’m not wrestling anymore. The interactions felt real, grounded, free from the push and pull of the rigged algorithms of Twitter. I can be more meditative with my posts again, in a space where my thoughts aren’t diluted, and the flow of conversation carries a deeper current.
It feels like stepping into a still lake after years of battling waves - here things are calmer, more reflective, more peaceful. I realise now that on the bird app I had been trying to force meaning in a place where it no longer existed.
Nostr is a place where my thoughts, and my posts, have space to grow, to evolve, unburdened by the noise.
Now my job is to find my authentic voice again - not shouting into the void, but speaking with clarity and depth. There’s work to do in rebuilding a community, but I feel a strong sense that this is the place to do it.

I open Twitter.
I see a totally rigged algo of bots and grifters simping for whatever Elon Musk has said or done today.
I close Twitter.
Roll on #nostr.

It sucks having to rebuild your community from nothing on a new platform.
But this is the price we pay to be sovereign.
This time, we’re building on solid ground, and not the shifting sands of big tech - which have proven certain to swallow us up.
This time we’re building with the right people, with the right values and with the right goals in mind.
That’s worth starting again for.

I’ve recently got into breathwork, and after being an on/off meditator for years (mainly off), I feel like I’ve finally found a mindfulness practice that feels natural to me.
I’m someone who is always overthinking, and meditation has always been difficult for me for this reason. Breathwork for me gives me a much more effortless entry into the meditative state.
This is a really good intro to breathwork for anyone interested.

This looks awesome. Every year for about the past 5 years I’ve said “this will be the year I try to make vegan cheese”. Still hasn’t happened, but the dream is still alive!

Consciousness, Karma and the Game Inside Ourselves ft. Hosshin
Hosshin is a yoga teacher with over three decades of spiritual exploration. He shared his journey of retreating from modern life to live in the Scottish wilderness, where he is building a personal sanctuary for deeper spiritual work.
Hosshin shared his thoughts on how recent events are a culmination of generational karma, and how we, as individuals, can navigate this through spiritual practice and inner work.
This is a discussion about finding meaning in chaos, seeking sovereignty, and discovering how our inner lives can shape the world we live in.

I used to blah blah blah bad thing.
But then I learned about blah blah blah good thing.
Here’s a thread of 20 things that you can do to become a top 0.1% blah whateverthefuck.

This is 90% of Twitter now. Just AI bots generating dumb threads you’ve read 1000 times.

What I love about #Bitcoin and #Nostr people is that they don’t just sit around and complain. They channel their frustrations into building systems which obsolete the unfairness and degeneracy of the old world.
I can’t remember the last time I opened Twitter and was NOT greeted by some kind of violent or shocking video.
Switching to “following” doesn’t work. It just defaults back.
Blocking and muting those amounts didn’t work, others just spring up out of nowhere and are straight back on my feed.
The algos are so heavily rigged to lower your consciousness that it’s not even addictive any more. If you’re gonna rig the algos and push an agenda or psyop, at least try to make it mildly appealing!
Trump's promise to commute Ross Ulbricht's sentence is completely empty for me.
He had a four-year tenure as president. This was ample opportunity to intervene in Ulbricht's case (not to mention Snowden and Assange who were also failed to help) - yet he did nothing. Why would we trust the empty words of a politician who has already failed to live by them?
In the realm of politics especially, promises are cheap, abundant, and expedient. They are tools to garner favour and nothing more. Promises made in the absence of action are ephemeral. They fade quickly. Their value is zero.
Trump already had the ability to commute sentences during his presidency. He chose to do nothing. Now, out of office, his promises carry even less weight.
“Don’t trust, verify”. This applies to politics as much as anything else.
We should always judge individuals not by their words, but by their actions. It is through actions that character is revealed and intentions are laid bare.
Ross Ulbricht is still in jail. He could have been enjoying 8 years of freedom if Trump had had been a man of action. Instead he’s still in jail in one of the greatest ongoing injustices in American history. Let’s not forget that.
I’m gonna spend more time on here.
It’s time.
I had over 11K followers on Twitter. Now I have under 10K. I haven’t had any engagement on my posts for over 2 years. I get suggested dumb stuff all the time that doesn’t interest me (at least it’s not addictive any more, seeing the latest stupid post from whatever is the latest useful idiot the algos decide to promote).
I can’t even DM people any more to invite on my podcast without Twitter forcing me to pay for premium.
Not to mention that train wreck of a rebrand.
“And we’re going to call it… X”
I mean HOLY SHIT… what ideas did they turn down?! 😂 Let alone the fact that they just evaporated one of the most important words in internet lexicon in the process.
Anyway I really hate that platform and the only thing keeping me there is the community. But I realise now that rather than waiting for the community to move over here, I shouldn’t wait.
Twitter is an empire that’s already collapsing. No point staying hoping in vain that it will reverse course. Better to start building elsewhere.
You’ll see more of me around here. I look forward to connecting with the #nostr community.
