Happy cat day
Rupert loved to be vacuumed. He would throw himself down in front of whatever was being vacuumed to make sure you didn't miss him. He'd roll around to make sure you got everywhere, even his tail, using the nozzle. Molly, though, had a running battle with the cleaner, hated it.
Aren't cats great?
Happy #Caturday everyone who celebrates.

Happy Arachtober, for those who celebrate.
But, a bee's life is a hard one.
This was taken a few years ago, but my garden now of course is full of spider's webs strategically placed to catch a few of the bees that come to the flowers. Everything has to live and the bees are soon finishing their work, with the arrival of the cooler weather.
Have a good Thursday, friends.

Incredible.
Here we are, the worst province in the country and in the Health Centre I just attended for blood work, there's not a mask in sight. I asked the phlebotomist to please put one on, and he grumbled that he'd have to find one. He found the flimsy paper one, and in protest, I guess, he barely covered the tip of his nose, and he didn't pinch the metal. I told him I don't gamble with my health.

For #SilentSunday
Have a lovely Sunday, all.
(Description in the #AltText )
We can only ever see the moon from our house when the trees are bare. This was taken December 25, 2012. The moon looked as if it had paused to rest.

Full Moon, Nova Scotia
This view is over the Minas Basin which is part of the Bay of Fundy water. We have rich red sandy cliffs and beaches and the lowest (or highest, depending) tides in the world here. Although this was taken years ago, we do have a full supermoon tonight.
For your #Friday enjoyment, Fedi Friends. Have a great day.

Full (almost*) Moon
Tonight and tomorrow will be the full moon, this time the "Harvest super" moon. It's not our biggest this year, but is our fourth and final 'supermoon' of the year and might be a little brighter than the others. In honour of this, I'll share a few of my favourite moon photos over the next day or so.
Have a great Thursday, Fedifriends.

Side 2
I cut all the flowers I could that were open enough, knowing that they might all be ruined by the storm. Here, they are seen from the outside looking in, so welcoming from the dull day and storm outside.
Happy Saturday and keep safe everyone.

I have been nurturing these black swallowtail butterfly caterpillars for a while, sacrificing my dill plants in the interests of local ecology. This is the smallest one, on a lovely rich dill plant where I moved it. Then came the rain yesterday... wait for that post...

I think @7d85d87e got it, from our time in France. He says sweet chestnuts. The kind you roast. They are inside and 2 or 3, I think, smaller.
@fb2b7c61
I guess this isn't a horse chestnut? Inside is a shiny brown 'conker' that kids (and not just kids) collect.
But I'm sure you know conkers and horse chestnuts. So this is probably not what it is. (The little flowers are gorgeous, though not often noticed.)
2/2
along with co-director Kris Bowers have won the Oscar for this great short film.
Read about the film and the directors on this site, specially the story of Kris at the bottom: https://breakwaterstudios.com/the-last-repair-shop/
You can watch the award winning film here if you haven't seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xttrkgKXtZ4 (40 minutes). It is incredibly moving.
