About the power of #open #source in #gardening: "Over the next 3 months, we created a new normal where 19 of the 30 houses on our block in Austin, TX hosted a front yard #community #garden. We began blogging about our mistakes and successes and open-sourced the vision. Over the past 7 years, over 350 branches of #Food is #Free have sprouted around the world from amazing people like you!"

"nearly half of survey respondents stated they began gardening because of its mental health benefits, as the pandemic provided some with greater free time to explore healthy hobbies"

We are slowly introducing our composting worms to cotton and letting them eat old clothes.

@867529b7 "If you have clothing or fabric that’s 100% organic and which contains no pesticides, dyes or any other chemicals which may harm your worms, you can give it to them. Just be extra careful while making sure that it’s safe for them, because they are tiny creatures, and a chemical-laden piece of clothing may be the end of them."

If you are in #Amsterdam, FIBER offers several workshops on #permacomputing in the upcoming weeks: https://www.fiber-space.nl/project/permacomputing/#workshops

"Our goal is to work together towards (re)using digital technology within the boundaries of our planet, build upon ecological systems, and preparing for an adapted form of computation within the reality of a climate emergency. Learn how to #reuse ‘obsolete’ #computers and devices, explore what’s behind the walls of a data centre and connect plants and electronics."
Several friends of ours are applying for the "Culture of Solidarity Fund" offering up to 30K and focusing on "just transition and environmental sustainability from a specific cultural angle."

If you are working in the field and need some financial support, be quick, the deadline is next Monday, 11 September
