Katherine Hayles coined in "How we became posthuman" (1999), that these dudes are basically feared by bodies. "Embodiment" really pisses them off, and all human stuff related to bodies like death, gender, needs, relationships, you name it, challenges their weirdo liberalism.
The book is 20+ year old, I think the analysis is still good enough to explain a little bit why these tech money bros go crazy.
