I have since been informed that this is the Tropical Orbweaver, #Eriophora ravilla
It has been a verywet year so far (1500mm Y-T-D, a record) but I am a point where I would like to go out in the yard and do some yard work on a Sunday in 2 months.....

 Termite biology is simple:

Here a late instar pseudergate engaging in grooming to a nympoid secondary reproductive, right next to larvae and younger pseudergate. This is Neotermes castanets, they have a linear development pathways, so it's very simple.

Right?

One of these. Classic. Series of email from a random dude, saying he has a genius idea about exterminating termites that will disrupt the industry. Each argument to prove his point, confirm a complete absence of knowledge in termite biology, the nature of the problem, the current status of the industry, and the science behind technologies.

Each statement was increasing base on inaccurate interpretarion of obscure Internet termite lore.

It was hilarious

It was upsetting

It was exhausting
Raiding a basmati rice grain, Pheidole navigants (I think) is small but effective in their foraging abilities.

@55efd5c4 now I have to design a board game about this.
Let's not assume that all coleoptera are just hard heavy shells. Fuzzy hair is a non- mutually exclusive option.
