Just back from the California DMV: I passed my test and now am fully legal to operate a car and a motorcycle (and everything in-between).
Relatedly, in 20 years in CA, I have never once had a bad DMV experience. I know everyone jokes about it sucking, but that's not been true for me. Today, I was in and out in about 30 minutes, including test taking, and the employees were all at worst polite but mostly actively friendly. One even complimented my braids (twin pigtails today).
Moved/swapped two chairs and a lamp and now it looks like we have a much bigger living room. Also, now have the lovely plant the fiancé’s daughter gave me for my birthday in a much more visible spot.
I just had an opp (in-house) counsel admit they infringed ("accidentally" of course), pointed out additional uses, apologized, and said they wanted to make it right...all in their first response to my letter. It was polite, forthright, and it was the first time that has happened in over a decade.
Now, I am inclined to trust them a lot more and expect we will resolve this matter shortly and without anyone taking it in the shorts. All because they did the right thing.
Sad that's so rare.
Today is our shackingupiversary: six years of cohabitation (after 2+ years dating).
Haven’t killed each other, yet.
(Actually, we mostly get along just fine, ☺️)
We had a neighbor (not the fabulous one I always write about) invite us over for a drink tomorrow to celebrate our engagement. I’m so very, very touched by it.
I gave some money to my instance's host/moderator. I highly encourage everyone who can to do the same so we can keep Mastodon mastodonish (i.e., ad-free, etc.).
Seems Square is down all over the place. I just had a facial and my esthetician’s system was dead, her sister/coworker checked with others in other bizes and states, also down. Hmmm…
