Founded in 1946 and re-established multiple times, it has a total of six professional seasons. In the 2009-2010 season, under the name Gallipoli Calcio, it participated in the Serie B championship for the first time in its history. Its achievements include winning the Coppa Italia Serie C (2005-2006) and the Supercoppa di Lega di Prima Divisione (2009).

The club's colors are yellow and red. It plays its home matches at the Antonio Bianco Stadium.
