A good idea for a #Mastodon app:
Integrate with #Trakt.tv, so it knows what episodes and movies you’ve seen. Automatically hide spoilers for things you haven’t seen.
Then when you mark something as seen, show your friends’ posts about them, even if they were old.
That way you can be completely out of touch with media but enjoy your friends’ posts when you actually get around to watching.
Someone do this please!

So you may be surprised to hear I don’t think it should be banned.
This will create a black market. Just like I don’t think drugs should be banned.
Just make them harder to buy, make it easier (and free) to get help giving up, and ban it from public spaces.

@e19f0bde I actually wrote to ICO once and offered to be an unpaid enforcer of GDPR rules.
I am a web developer and think it’s unfair that others aren’t held to the high standards I like to do.
I offered to location people breaking the rules and send them strongly worded emails and get the ICO to fine them if they didn’t mend their ways.
They never replied. I guess they aren’t interested in actually enforcing anything at all.

@e19f0bde it’s a supposed loop hole that actually doesn’t exist but they use it as an excuse to gather data.
All of GDPR is a mess to be honest. The actual rules state you must have one big button that says “deny” and it must be the same prominence as the allow button. So 99% of websites are breaking the rules.

@ffe0be0d self checkouts are a pain but I love self-scan apps.
Saves so much time to just scan it and pack it straight into the bag, then quickly pay and leave.

In Lima and yesterday while having a coffee out, a woman was sitting near me and crying while looking at me.
She apologised and said it’s because I reminded her of her nephew’s boyfriend, and her nephew recently died.
She proceeded to tell me he was gay but not like “crazy gay”. Then she warned me to stay away from the gay bars here.
Very strange!
