Jefftastic boost, I want to see more nodes on my repeater!
Another one here for the FreeBSD escape hatch.
Also if you want to get more professionals to use linux you need attack corporate IT. Everywhere I've worked there is a massive pent up demand for linux, and IT becomes the department of now with the most common reasons being we dont have skills for that or our security software was poorly picked and doesn't support it. Source, Im working on converting my 3rd company to let me use linux as my workstation.

I will say as a security professional stuff like the cups vuln is a two sided problem. On the one side we tend to be terrible at people skills so we sound like the boy who cried wolf, or chicken little, which makes us easy to bruah off, then we are really quick to scream I told you so and give the means to exploit these bugs away. On the otherside though the people running projects tend to take the work researchers do for granted, and are quick to brush things off when they don't understand them, which is a huge problem because a lot of these bugs exist in the realm of "Why would anyone ever do that"

Remember the Apple ads about vista's UAC. Oh how the times changed. But a little tip, you can usually bypass a bunch of the error messages by setting file system flags, so like the block for internet things set com.apple.quarantine to 0 and its gone. But who knows how long that will last. That's why Ive been telling people to give linux another shot, it's got better. Don't have to deal with this nonsense
