 @e4530301 @933c193a given my experience with Sony when they made laptops, this could be a deal-breaker.  For the VAIO FX215 I had, it had a BIOS bug, but Sony only fixed it in another model that just happened to be compatible.  I had to work all this out by myself just so the trackpad would stop locking the machine up because Sony's support was crap!

ASUS can't possibly be worse...

I'm OK with that. ASUS is a decent hardware OEM. They managed to make wi-fi access points that don't die in a year, so the NUCs under them can't get too bad...
