Wasn’t sure why I was feeling so under the weather and achy this eve--what wa so exposed to recently?!--then remembered that, oh yeah, I got flu and COVID shots today, which also explains my arm! Silly me. (When do the superpowers arrive?)
Now that the new COVID vaccine seems to be available at some CVS locations nearish me, I've got mine scheduled for next weekend.
I really wish they could have gotten these out the door before I started teaching this semester--esp given the increase in cases, to judge by what I'm hearing and the (delayed) wastewater data, since other incidence info is no longer collected(?!)--but at least it's now reasonably possible to get.
@dc07832d Well, your little manifesto certainly has given me something to ponder. A quite fun piece of rhetoric with lots to unpack and think about, with little twists around "practical knowledge, "elite," and "byzantine." (This would be a nice essay prompt!)
@dc07832d There's apparently (I had no idea!) a removal statue that covers state criminal charges against federal officials (acting in their official capacity). (I don't know its history, but I can guess!)
The arg against (as it was in NY apparently) was that Trump wasn't acting in his official capacity. And even if removed, it looks to me like it would still be state law but in federal court (as in civil removal). Weird tho, and I dunno what happens w/r/t pardons if this happens.
