@e7d4ac82@b78f1a7a The casual "oh don't take it personally, it's just locker room talk" justification was chilling. They can't see that normalizing talking about patients like that reflects/changes how they deal with them when providing care (or, more likely, "care")?!
I'm seeing more and more people talk about Bluesky in an almost relieved way. They're finding people who apparently stayed on Twitter longer and left only when Bluesky started. And there is a definite loneliness to knowing my old network is probably humming along over there.
But I just... can't. My brain solidly closed the door on a certain social media concept, and I can't bring myself to reopen it. It's an uncomfortable and melancholy feeling, but it's holding.
@3967703f@0e7dc019@1336114a@e59df6f1@e9dfee67@242b83c8 In young people's defense, plenty of them are interested in cursive and/or penmanship generally! Schools, however, have made the decision on whether it's important or not for them, and it has to become a hobby if they want to learn it. And that narrows the window of participation considerably.
Fediverse, I'd like to move #ASL learning up my to-do list. Any recommendations for good online video intros or instruction to get underway?
Edit: #SignLanguage hashtag too!
