Russia-24 (tv station): "Trump: The US is ruled by tyrants from whom the country must be saved" text overlay on image below.

An archivist today discovered that Russia-24 occasionally airs a brief (~5 seconds) program transition element (interstitial) of a still of Donald Trump, with an index finger raised to the sky, with text overlay:

(FYI: he hasn't found a Trump quotation close to that)

"And I think the information that is produced by our key industries that are so important to Americans everywhere should be secured by the Library of Congress for the long-term preservation and access to make sure that things are leveraged as best we can for our country."

"It's then how do we make these things [copyright registrations and uploads] accessible in such a way that they can be used to try to figure out what is under copyright or not?

I mean, it's very, very difficult. And if it's all locked up, that won't necessarily serve even the industries that are represented here."

A copyright rep replied they thought it should be paywalled.

Brewster goes to Washington (congressional hearing on the Copyright Office Modernization Committee)

"The key thing I would suggest is the role the Library of Congress plays of preservation and access.

I mean, fundamentally, it's the Library for Congress, and they're building this collection of mandatory deposits as well as copyright registrations and everything that goes into their collections to try to preserve and create a better democracy."

 dreaming of a Cat Bus....

How about adding a tiny urban autonomous e-bus that would go down "slow streets" or on commercial streets in a hop-on/hop-off way.

like seen in india, philippines, mexico, cuba, San Francisco cable cars but with new tech and smaller (golf cart-ish)

At 20mph and convenient this would not replace bus/taxi/bike/subway... just add new option.

maybe free to hop-on hop-off?

maybe like this gem-e but with the seats facing out and autonomous?

name? "Cat Bus"?

Waymo in San Francisco! I just took a driverless taxi to the Archive at rush hour and it worked great (~$13).

It handled a tricky turn and being stuck behind a delivery truck that took up our whole lane-- impressive.

Living in the future.
