Hi @sudocarlos The translation feature only activates for languages that are not configured as a preferred language in iOS.
You can check and modify your preferred language settings in the iOS settings app > General > Language & Region > Preferred Languages
I believe it’s possible that adding an international keyboard might have also added that language as a preferred language automatically, but you should be able to tweak those iOS settings independently (e.g. I have a Japanese keyboard on mine, but I have removed Japanese from my preferred languages list)
Interesting insights! What kind of digital products were you selling in these experiments? Was it downloadable software, SaaS software, or other non-software products (e.g design assets)?
How is the Bitcoin/Nostr scene in Tokyo? Are there frequent bitdevs-style meetups and other social events?
I found some events online, but I would love to hear the opinions of someone living in Tokyo!

Thank you for the report @shawn! When this happens, are you starting off from a different tab (e.g. notifications), or was that thread accessed from within the home feed itself?
Hi @sudocarlos, we have changed our TestFlight link at some point this year. You can find the latest TestFlight link when you login here: https://damus.io/purple/login/
Can you please try the TestFlight link there?
Would Bitcoin-adjacent topics like Nostr or self-hosting technology be part of the scope for this publication?
And beyond somebody to run the publication, are you also looking for occasional writing submissions?
Awesome! I don’t have much free time, but I’d be interested in doing occasional writing about Nostr and self-hosting technology for your publication.
@NVK, it might be early, but what’s the best way to get started? Can I decide on a topic for a first article and talk to you about it before starting to write, to ensure it’s within scope? Are there any guidelines/resources I should read before getting started?
NextCloud is a nice way to get a “cloud-like†experience on a home server you control. It has a familiar UI that makes it a nice choice if you want to help onboard a family member or friend who is less technical into your home server.
Unfortunately, I find many setups and tutorials to be non-ideal (e.g. Missing HTTPS support, unclear configuration, spread-out data, lack of backups, etc).
So I wrote a guide that (I believe) solves a lot of these issues. If you are looking to improve your NextCloud setup, this might be an interesting read!

I am open for questions and suggestions! If you do give it a read, I would love to hear your thoughts. I will zap the best comments! 🤙⚡ï¸
Wouldn’t the ones that are related to eavesdropping of electromagnetic emissions also apply to any electronics, such as (at least some) hardware wallets? How does Coldcard prevent this type of attack?
We could encrypt them using the recipient pubkey, but would there be a benefit? All of the data in push notifications is already public in the Damus relay anyways 🤷â€â™‚ï¸
Phi3 3B is the best local LLM model for programming questions that I have seen. It’s quite capable, and doesn’t use as many computing resources as other models of similar capability. It runs on an M1 chip without making the computer sluggish.

If there is a Muji store near you, I recommend looking at their stationary section. You can find similar notebooks for a fraction of the price, and they are pretty nice too
@jb55, I took a closer look at this one, and it looks like it is caused by the same issue, but probably aggravated by the timing of it. I have a possible solution to fix it, I will send it to you. @ButtercupRoberts don’t worry, we will get this resolved ðŸ™
Thank you for this follow-up @ButtercupRoberts, please disregard my last comment (I only saw your new message after I posted)
@jb55, either way I will send you a patch to make solving this type of issue more easy in the future
@TKay thank you for bringing this to my attention. We have at least one related ticket scheduled for the next two weeks (roughly), so we should get this investigated soon!

Hi @Zardoz, it looks like that profile is a Mastodon profile made available through a Nostr-Mastodon bridge.
It doesn’t look like you are connected to any such bridges yet, can you try adding wss://relay.mostr.pub to your relay list? That should do the trick!
Hi @gle_double_n, I see there is a star on your profile now, can you please confirm if you are still seeing issues or if it has been resolved on your end?
Thank you for sharing that, I see what is probably causing the issue.
Can you please try these steps:
1. Set the Damus Purple environment back to the “production†option
2. Turn off the “Enable experimental Purple API supportâ€
3. Restart the app
Please let me know if that works!
