Anybody using the “keyword search” safari extension on safari 17 on sonoma? It does not seem to work for me since I upgraded, nor does a newly installed similar extension work. Has safari removed an event these extensions rely on?
Ah, found it. In the Settings->Developer panel the “Allow JavaScript from Smart Search field” must be set. I presume it was set, but the upgrade of the system and/or safari unset it…
@7dc73dc1 Chrome/Chromium also had tab groups and, at least Brave, profiles. But there are some major deficiencies: e.g., it is not clear how (if at all) I can ‘save’ tab groups; they are lost if you quit the browser. As for profiles: it does not seem to work at all, at least not on the latest MacOS…
Having fun with Safari’s (new) profile feature. I can now open two different google accounts simultaneously (assigned to two Safari profile) within the same browser, which is a plus. The combination of profiles and tab groups, as well as their sync with my iPhone (with IOS 17) and iPad also work nicely. 👏

One feature I miss: moving a tab from one profile to another. Currently this does not seem to be possible ☹️
I have just installed a Passkey to log in to github (using 1Password as the authenticator). It is magic:-)
Interesting experiment on the same text being read by the author, and some voices generated by AI. See some more explanation in the caption of the video (well, essentially a series of audio clips).

#tpac2023 was great. Except the travel back… in the middle of the flight home to Marseille it turned out that the airport was closed (high winds). Ryanair dropped us at the airport of Girona, with the offer to wait at the airport parking (2-3 hours) and then find us buses to get us to Marseille (6-5 hours drive). A voucher of… 4€ (!) was offered for food and drinks. I decided to rush to Girona station and caught a train that took me back home in 4 hours (with one hour waiting at the station) :-(
Henry Story, a.k.a. bblfish, has just passed away. He has been around the W3C, especially the Semantic Web work like… forever. It is difficult to grasp; we had a fruitful discussion with him on one of the Working Groups just a few days ago.

R.I.P., Henry
