It's a long shot because I think the issue is related only to RTMP disconnections which I can't determine the cause for yet.

Still, errors are never good. 

 Will this change affect the value blocks in Podacst RSS feeds? 

 It's a much better experience but very few apps support it, probably because of lack of demand and it's harder to handle offline downloads (not that we should automatically download gigabyte-sized episodes but each to their own).

@518e472e supports it and even lets you choose multiple resolutions.
