I was playing at that time... me and my buddies accounts were really really low and we had no concept of what was happening... but I could see the patterning of player skeletons outside of major cities... and I could tell that something in there was killing people as they were trying to run away out of town. We were very skittish back then so we just kinda bugged out to some lesser traveled areas and continued on like nothing was happening... every so often you'd see a paladin surviving... healing thru the sickness... but there was no cure... they were just living to spread it more.
