What a horrendous thing it is to have taken the works of human artists, their drawings and paintings and poems and photos of the human condition, their love for the world and others and true experiences, and turned them into an easy engine for trickery, scams, and lies.
When SF was flush with so much jingoistic pro-military stuff from writers like Heinlein and Jerry Pournelle, Harry Harrison wrote Bill the Galactic Hero (which is very funny) and popped the balloon. It's probably my first realization as a young teenager that art is a conversation.

And every ttrpg I've made is a conversation within the landscape of ttrpgs.

The webp file format really is a scourge, isn't it?
