 Not surprising that many men today chase and lust after women like fiends as if the purpose of life consisted of this exact practice. With higher purpose absent from their lives they indeed reduced their purpose to satisfying their desires. The purpose then further reduces itself to pleasure. Thus the door opens to drug abuse and addiction. In truth we all understand this on an intuitive level. The consequences and side effects of seeing man through a materialist prism.
