I saw the end of a system in an outfit a 20 something girl was wearing at the supermarket.

The 70 year pattern of “pushing the boundaries” through wearing less and less clothing in public has reached the point where the girl didn’t look sexy, or even sexual. She looked ridiculous. Nothing fashionable, seductive, or suggestive was present. Purely the absolute minimum amount of cloth required to cover the surface of various bits. It wasn’t shocking, or offensive. It had surpassed those into the realm of curious circus like bizarre.
I didn’t know it was possible to see a pretty girl wearing so little, and feel nothing but a kind of bemused confusion. Then I realized it’s another symbol of the logical conclusion of a cultural paradigm reaching its endpoint. And now there is nowhere left to go but back the other way, or off a cliff.
