Some people are allergic to dogs. 

I have been awakened by a barking dog in the hotel room across the hall at 2am. 

I understand why folks want to travel with their pets, but hotels should set aside certain rooms and/or sections of the hotel for that. 

Also, hotels that allow pets should not have carpet. 

That said, I do agree that, in general, dogs are better than humans.
