Agreed, but we still need to improve user friendliness, adoption is at stand-still: https://m.primal.net/HWst.png https://stats.nostr.band/
adoption is not about clients at this stage. That idea is a myth.
Finding people when starting is too hard imo. Adding relays is confusing too
Ive been using “the alternative” for over a decade. migration is rarely about the client. almost always about either a reactionary event, or viral novelty. nostr now enters the post honeymoon period. the long dark night of the soul. now we find out who is here for shallow reasons and who isnt.
Twitter's network effect is very strong, for sure. That being said, a newbie just checking out #Nostr has a pretty hard time. Try it out - create a new nsec and put it into a random client, and pretend you don't know that much about whom to follow or how relays work (because normies just won't know that), just try to "discover" what's on here as if you were new to it.
IT IS STILL VERY EARLY. THAT SAID THERE ARE MORE RESPONSES TO THE POST YOU RESPONDED TO THAN MOST TWEETS.
No doubt it's very early, and I much appreciate what you are building here. That said, I would recommend that you try the "newbie experience" every few months, with a fresh nsec and pretending to have zero inside knowledge about how stuff works here.
HAVE YOU TRIED PRIMAL RECENTLY? DOWNLOAD FROM APP STORE. GENERATE A FRESH NSEC. WE ARE CLOSE.
I just tried it - getting closer indeed! In my opinion, what's still missing is for the user to find people that would be interesting to them specifically, based on their interests. Right now it's very Nostr- and Bitcoin-centric.
