what is the point of generating this energy if it can't be used by people ?  ..  I mean you are simply wasting  that energy in computing hashes  - kinda double whammy,  cuz you are not only wasting energy but compute also  ! 

The truth however is exact opposite .. when you create demand for energy generation equipment , the industry improves .. for example , if there is more demand for the phones , the phone  industry benefits ..  Same way if there is more demand for energy sector the sector improves ... 

The fact is entire energy sector ( including solar  and renewable)  is in serious glut situation because energy sector is stymied by the ailing and aging grid  ..
