Don't get mad/jealous. 

Ask yourself if #Nostr is ready to pick up half a million new users within 24 hours... 

What does that look like? 

Will users "get it" and embrace it? Will they stick? 

What would they see here? 

Will they be welcomed? 

What will make them stay? 

BlueSky sure didn't make me stay. I kicked the tires, got bored, and left.

 Do we even want that many users? 

Quality > quantity 

 We want to #GrowNostr. Perhaps not like that.  

 I think the biggest issue would be a lot of relays are run as single instances without load balancing / replication.  Strfry supports it but I doubt it’s being done. And then the search relays are similarly scalable but not setup for it.  

 That's kinda what I wonder... Can it handle that level of stress test? 

And if it can't, then we flunk.  

 We faced something like it with the spam stress tests a few weeks ago. And we discovered the servers stay up but we are vulnerable to a sophisticated attack on the network.  

 How far away is nostr from being able to survive a sophisticated attack? 

 Ok, so apparently the influx didn't work out so well for BlueSky.
