Heavy rainfall has left devastating effects on Reynolds campus and surrounding areas, including Chimney Rock. Kim Pierce, a resident, lost her new condo and most of her belongings in the floodwaters. She was forced to take refuge with neighbors she had never met and even helped rescue them. As the community begins to rebuild, residents are struggling to come to terms with the loss of their homes and livelihoods.
