Recent discovery: I've long observed that there's a huge, disproportionate price difference between consumer-level and pro-grade still photography equipment, but that didn't even remotely prepare me for the same difference in the pricing of consumer vs pro cinema gear.

Even very well off still photographers have budgets far lower than feature film productions, and the market definitely reflects that.
