Taking my offspring for their annual eye tests. Baffled the receptionist when I said I would like to pay for them.

But why? She asks. They're free on the NHS.

Nothing is free. The NHS pays you and the Gubmunt pays the NHS. The Gubmunt creates debt which my offspring will be lumbered with. 

I choose not to load my offspring with that burden.
