🚨NEW WINE ALERT🚨
This 2021 Cab Franc drops on Sunday!
Tasting Notes:🍷
Aroma:
On the nose, this wine presents a captivating bouquet of deep blackberry and ripe plum, with a hint of warm, inviting spices that evoke the essence of freshly baked goods.
Palate:
The palate mirrors the rich fruit profile, showcasing layers of juicy blackberry and luscious plum. The mouthfeel is full-bodied, with strong, structured tannins that give the wine a robust, lingering finish.
TLDR: This wine will take you to a place where blind men see 🍷

but where will it take a person that can already see?
...to a place where blind men can see too

Ooh dude. I love a rich/full Cab Franc. The Chinon-style are elegant and lovely, but a bold American one just takes me to another level. Better than most Cabernet Sauvignon (in my opinion), especially at any given price point (that’s just a fact) 🍷
How long have you been making a Cabernet franc? I don’t remember seeing it before!
What sort of oak treatment does it see?
This one has me REALLY excited.
I did a 2020 Cab Franc and most people considered that to be my best wine (outside of Pinot) from that vintage. I wouldn't be surprised to have that happen again from the 2021
That’s awesome, man. I’m starting to think it might be time (let’s be honest it’s way overdue) to acquire a few bottles and start building my Peony Lane stack…
Couple questions:
- was the 2020 cab franc your first vintage of it (and do you have any left)?
- depending on the first question, is there any chance of procuring a 2 (or more) vintage vertical?
- how do you handle shipping during these hot AF summer months?
no there are 'none' left of the 2020 (my first vintage of it) but I could see about finding a bottle that slipped through the cracks. would be cool to get you a vertical. I do have a 2022 cab franc, but don't wanna send out wine that isn't ready.
I just make sure to ship on Mondays so that the wine doesn't get stuck in a warehouse and I haven't had any issues. that said, it's super easy for me to take an order and just mark it to be held until it's cooler
Sweeeeet 🤙
Agree with you re: waiting on the ‘22. Wouldn’t want to rush development by waking a sleeping baby.
I saw you also added some cool new bottling since I last checked your site. “Sovereign Blanc” looks dope. Might need a little mix-and-match with a Tempranillo and a Pinot.
I think hold-to-ship is the right move at the moment but will check the weather for the week, maybe next week.
So yeah man if you do have any of the 2020 CF, I would definitely like to snag some 20 & 21. You can count on a tasting note write-up here on nostr post-indulgence 🤝🍷
I'll see what I can do!
I'm not at the cellar today so just ping me if I don't get back to you on th 2020 in a few days
Alright brother, sounds great 🤙
I wrote about drinking a glass of peony lane cab franc in my book today, the protagonists really enjoyed it.
Whoever those protagonists are, they have great taste
