I keep hearing about strikes and retaliations, and when explaining why there wasn't much damage people defend them by saying that Iran needed to "send a message" to Israel, or that Israel's strike near a nuclear research facility "sends a message" to Iran.

Nostr sends messages.  They should put the missiles away and send each other messages on nostr.
