Oddbean new post about login | logout "omg u still use twitter" yes. after over a year of using amethyst (my go-to nostr app for reasons), it still does not consistently work/load in the feed i have been troubleshooting again and again since this morning to post this; and i can imagine it being as frustrating for the devs, but i have little motivation left to report this bug over and over 🫡

The discovery tab is the last to load. So that could be it. Or if you are using relays that limit in the amount of subscriptions or filters, they will cut the discovery tab requests :( You can also try moving the app to the background and back to the front again. That forces the restart all connections with relays. If this restart fixes it, let me know.
I think that’s alright for nostr at the moment. Loads of bugs and I can’t remain engaged either and finding it okay without being in Twitter either. It gives me time to touch grass.
i have been pretty persistent with problems and choosing clients that seem to function best - coracle and primal are my go-tos and i don't use mobile at all, and anyhow, because i'm building nostr stuff i use it even sometimes just to talk about my work and test my relay but i think overall the standard of reliability of clients and relays is still in the early beta phase... still so many wonky, quirky things, insecure, buggy clients and relays... i personally tried to use amethyst on my motorola G51 running android 12 and my last attempt it was rejecting my valid nsec - so then i installed plebstr and then after that again decided that using it on mobile was not a good idea and i quit using social media altogether 3 months ago, it was almost a whole month before i came back to nostr after about a month on it last year you will not regret to stop posting, or even just reading that trash on Xitter and the rest, once you get used to it i follow some news sites that are generally decent but that's it for my contact with the media... it's just not good for your mental health
yess, i hear ya but the app is meant to work as a social media app and it is good to stay realistic (the majority of people, especially younger gens, are not on desktop as a user)

yes it's beautiful fr were just used to apps somehow, hope it will chance.. it's weird, bc it does take less effort to go to a site thsn to install an app
I think the software is running better so far. If you can't send a message properly it may be the repeater（relay）.
