How many years of work is this as compared to the average salary in your city/town?
i don’t know our exact average household income in this part of the city but I would guess that today it’s 6-9 years annual income vs. mortgage. not the 3-5 we had a decade ago.
That is crazy, but California is about the same. A 20% down payment is now about 2 years salary for the average person. It appears most people haven't learned this yet. We hear about bullshit inflation numbers. I don't think our rulers understand how fucked up things are for 80% of the population.
