 But let's not get too excited over the U.S. government being a democratic or representative republic. Is the U.S. government REALLY representative of the people? There are like 750,000 constituents to each representative. This is a far cry from the 1:30,000 ratio that was intended. You don't personally know the representative (in most cases) nor do they know you. They actually represent those that fund their reelection and personal perks, i.e., corporations.
