I was reminded again how important editing is. I got a lovely critique of my book, which also noted that the writing didn't flow so well in the second half and I was a bit verbose there. 

That's exactly the part where my editor got busy with other things and couldn't spend so much time on it.

I'll collect more feedback and then maybe create an updated edition with more editing.
