 It might be a relay thing.

Check the relay section after tapping your icon in the top left corner.

Does it look like you are connected to the relays in your relay list?

 It shows “online” next to 3/4 of the relays that I was automatically put on when I downloaded Damus. Or at least that’s my understanding.
