If i send usdt from binance to SimpleSwap for a swap in monero, is it possible to trace the swap for binance or chain analyst? #asknostr #monero #xmr
Yes. Take the Monero out to a Wallet. After that it is impossoble to trace, use a No KYC exchange and get BTC back
Yea SimpleSwap isn't a wallet, for what i see it's just a website where you send crypto and they do the swap sending it to the address of your choice. There is no sign-up, no-KYC
why not use an exchange that supports xmr trades?
Which one ?
Haveno reto
☝
a lot of the Asian ones still operate.
Sorry, that didn't help much. You can check on counmarketcap or coingecko and search xmr and scroll down to exchanges. There you can see know liquidity volumes and exchanges/what the pair is. XMR big in Korea; that Kim/Xi premium 😂 https://image.nostr.build/cff275ad7872b61c55828914e5109f16b28661adbf36c783dad0578ec73e07e7.gif
If you want to swap, i can advice exch : https://exch.cx/ Actually, there is far more liquidity on usdc rather than usdt but it change in the time. There is no KYC and I never had any issue with the service https://image.nostr.build/73d276dcc4551f9f6cd9c58143b7b396d3f33e0c1aaded0a4ffd6fe1a4293871.jpg
I see they accept btc on lightning for swap. That's cool
After the swap, when you receive your first transaction on the Monero wallet (I like feather wallet, it’s like electrum), moving funds to another sub address or a new wallet is good. Running your own node is very nice but if you don’t want or you can’t, you should use Tor (preconfigured on feather wallet to connect after block sync, nothing to do especially). The goal is to hide your IP to a remote node and be even more anonymous
They might know you sent it to a swap service address and that you swapped for Monero if they collude with SimpleSwap, but they wont be able to trace what happened after as long as you stay in Monero and spend it directly If you want to later go Monero -> BTC (or another crypto) use Bisq, Haveno-Reto, Robosats, or BasicSwapDEX. Don't swap it all back in one shot (break into different amounts) and don't use SimpleSwap again for this.
