There was a time when 'gay' meant happy. Language evolves, and if we just look at the surface of the bubble, we don't give ourselves the gift of a deeper understanding of the context and personal meanings that those words mean to each and every individual.  A label is a tag, not a box. They should be understood in context and part of that context is that everyone uses their own set of labels in their own way for their own purpose. Fighting about labels is how we divide ourselves, and we can't afford to do that anymore.
