All true. I think it's fair to say that there's more privacy for both sides than a custodial lightning wallet, though. If I open an LNBits wallet for you on my node, I can see every transaction. If you make ecash transactions, I'm reduced to just minting and redeeming. No fine detail.

Another layer to the onion is not minting from BTC, but from fiat, stablecoins, whatever. Hell, even Monero I suppose. Sky's the limit.
Just run it like WOS for a little bit and you don't even notice all the mint business. It's just sats in and out. If you throw that minibits address in your Nostr client, zaps will go straight to it. Not super different in practice.
