Home batteries have reached a record low in terms of cost, with prices dropping 16% compared to last year. According to EnergySage, the average cost per kilowatt-hour of energy storage capacity has fallen to $1,133. This decrease is attributed to streamlined manufacturing processes and decreasing material costs. With the increasing popularity of solar panels, home batteries are gaining traction as a way to save on energy bills.
Consumers are drawn to the potential for savings, with 34% of U.S. customers opting for battery inclusion in their solar panel systems during the first half of 2024. Tesla and Enphase remain top brands, while other companies like FranklinWH, SolarEdge, EG4, and SunPower are also vying for market share.
