Most of society is made up of idiots, so why are important things decided by majority vote?
Probably because most of humans are stupid.

I want a government that can create brilliant solutions that I can't even imagine. I want a government made up of people who make me feel grateful that they exist in the same era, even if the overwhelming difference in intelligence strikes me.

I don't want to entrust my fate, my destiny to elections where people just choose their favorites from the pictures of utopia presented by politicians.
Where are the means of creating the scenery in those pictures shown?

It is easy to show why politicians are not competent. If you were talented at something, would you become a politician?
Ultimately, members of society have no choice.
